About Us

We see you, Because we are you.

Mixed Mental Health was founded on a deeply personal understanding of the unique challenges faced by mixed-heritage and multi-cultural individuals in accessing appropriate mental health care. Our founders, drawing on their own lived experience as multiracial and mixed heritage therapists and conversations within the mixed therapeutic community, recognised a critical gap.

There was a clear lack of visibility for therapists who understood the nuances of mixed race identity, cultural multiplicity and the impact of the mixed lived experience. This platform is our answer – a dedicated space built by and for the mixed-heritage community to find and access appropriate mental health care.

Our mission & vision

Mission

Our mission is to be the dedicated space for mixed-heritage mental health, acting as a dedicated connector that makes culturally competent support visible, findable, and accessible to every mixed-heritage individual, with all surplus profits reinvested into community benefit.

Vision

We envision a world where mixed-heritage identity is central to mental health conversations, not a footnote. A future where every mixed-heritage and multi-cultural individual can easily find a therapist or wellbeing practitioner who truly understands their lived experience. Reducing the burden of searching for appropriate support and fostering a profound sense of safety, recognition, and belonging.
Our core values

Guiding principles for a better Mixed Mental Health care.

Identity-centric:

We believe effective therapy must see, hear, and understand the rich dimensions and complexity of mixed and multi-cultural identities and the world they live in.

Connection, not gatekeeping:

Our role is to facilitate direct, transparent connections, empowering individuals to make informed choices about their care.

Authority & safety:

We build trust through rigorous screening, featuring qualified professionals, and operating with clear ethical processes.

Nuanced conversation:

We are dedicated to open and honest dialogue about the complex realities shaping mixed experiences, including mono-racism, colourism, anti-Blackness, intersectional oppression and systemic injustice.

More than a platform, We're a promise.

Mixed Mental Health operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC) Limited by Guarantee. This means our primary purpose is to serve the mixed community, not to generate private profit. Every surplus income is reinvested directly into our social mission: funding therapy subsidies, practitioner training, and free community resources.

Our asset lock ensures our resources are perpetually dedicated to the benefit of the mixed-heritage and multi-cultural community. When you engage with Mixed Mental Health, you’re supporting a movement for equitable mental health.
