We can help with

Please note

Mixed Mental Health is not a crisis service, and we do not provide emergency mental health support through this contact page.

Response time

We aim to respond within 2 working days.

Not a crisis service

Mixed Mental Health is not designed for urgent or emergency support.
If you need urgent help (UK):
  • Immediate danger or risk of serious harm: call 999. (Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust)
  • Free listening support: call Samaritans on 116 123. (nhs.uk)
  • Prefer text support: text SHOUT to 85258 (free, confidential, 24/7). (nhs.uk)
  • In England: you can call NHS 111 and select option 2 for mental health crisis support (24/7). (NHS England)

If you’re unsure whether it counts as “urgent”, it’s still OK to reach out for help. You don’t need to be at your worst to deserve support. (Samaritans)

How we approach Therapist listing verification

We use trust signals to help clients make informed choices while staying clear that a listing is not a clinical guarantee.

What Therapist listing verification may include:

  • Confirmation of professional membership/accreditation details
  • Confirmation of professional indemnity insurance (where applicable)

What verification is not:

  • A judgement about clinical quality or “fit”
  • A promise of outcomes
  • A substitute for your own sense-making in the first contact/first session

What we collect

We designed Mixed Mental Health to minimise sensitive data.

We avoid:

  • In-platform therapy messaging
  • Collecting or storing personal therapy narratives
  • Creating a system that functions like a clinical record

Reporting concerns

If something feels off, you can tell us.

You can report:

  • A listing that seems misleading
  • A therapist profile that raises a safeguarding concern
  • Harmful or discriminatory language on a profile
  • Misuse of the platform

What happens next:

We’ll review, may request clarification or edits, and may pause/unpublish a listing while we assess. If the issue suggests immediate danger, we will signpost you to urgent support services rather than trying to “hold” a crisis through MMH. (Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust) Contact us to report and issue.

Inclusion, identity, and consent-based language

We do not treat identity as a tick box. Some therapists may name lived experience; others may speak to training, reflective practice, and cultural humility. Where identity is referenced, it should remain optional, respectfully held, and never demanded.
We aim to create a space where mixed heritage experiences are treated as real and nuanced, not something you have to justify.

Choosing a therapist: gentle guidance

A directory can narrow the field, but fit is relational.

You might consider:

  • How the therapist describes their approach (does it feel human, grounded, aligned to your current needs?)
  • Whether their profile shows humility and resonates to you
  • Practical fit: fees, availability, location/online
  • Your felt sense after first contact: did you feel respected and understood?

FAQs

Do I need be a member to browse?

No browsing is free and available to everyone.

We don’t “match” or recommend clinically. We help you find options and you choose to make contact with the therapists you want to find out morer about.

No. We prioritise outbound contact to keep Mixed Mental Health from becoming a clinical messaging space.
