1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing and using the Mixed Mental Health (MMH) directory, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. MMH is a service operated by Mixed Mental Health CIC. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must stop using the site immediately.

2. “Screening & cataloguing” disclaimer

MMH employs a process of screening and cataloguing to list practitioners on our platform.

  • What we do: We capture and display claimed accreditations (e.g., BACP, UKCP), membership numbers, and proof of professional indemnity insurance.
  • What we are not: We are not an adjudicator of clinical quality or therapeutic “fit”. A listing on our directory does not constitute a clinical guarantee, endorsement, or recommendation by MMH.
3. User due diligence (mandatory)

It is the user’s sole responsibility to verify a therapist’s credentials, insurance, and professional standing directly with the practitioner or their respective professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP) before commencing any treatment or therapy.

4. Off-Platform communications

MMH facilitates discovery only. All therapeutic contracts, payments, and communications occur entirely on therapist-owned channels. MMH exercises no control over, and accepts no liability for, any services provided by therapists discovered via the directory.

5. Not a crisis aervice

MMH is not a crisis service. We do not provide emergency mental health support. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek urgent help:

  • Call 999 for immediate danger or risk of serious harm.
  • Call NHS 111 (select option 2 for mental health crisis support).
  • Call the Samaritans on 116 123 for free listening support.
  • Text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential, 24/7 text support.
6. Therapist obligations (subscribers)

Therapists listed on the MMH directory must adhere to the following obligations:

  • provide accurate, current, and non-misleading information
  • maintain any required professional membership, registration, or insurance
  • keep your profile reasonably up to date
  • use respectful, non-discriminatory, and lawful language
  • comply with any additional listing terms or application requirements set by MMH
7. Fees and CIC mission

MMH operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC). Subscription fees (e.g., Basic listing; founding member fees) are utilised to maintain and develop the platform. All surplus profits are reinvested into community benefits, such as funding therapy subsidies, practitioner training, and free community resources, aligning with our mission to serve the mixed-heritage community.

8. Termination of service

We reserve the right to pause, suspend, or unpublish a listing if the information provided is found to be misleading, if it raises a safeguarding concern, or if the therapist fails to maintain the required professional standards.

9. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
